If you plan to come to visit Jodhpur, the second biggest city of Rajasthan next year in October, don’t miss the RIFF Festival – Rajasthan International Folk Festival! It is a great festival of traditional music situated in the Mehrangar Fort.

Every years in October since 2007, this festival gathers more than 250 artists from all over the world to commemorate differents musical heritages. This year, visitors had the chance to listen to different traditional bands from Rjasthan as well as international artisites as well as Manu Chao La Ventura, franco-spanish famous band, the Gypsy kings family, Maya Kamati from Reunion Island, SPIRO, Qawaali with Rizwan and Muazzam and the Legacy of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, famous artists from Pakistan. There was also several collaborations between artists from international stage and local musiciens such as Kaela Rowan Group, Scotish folk band and traditional musicians from Rajasthan or Maru Tarang, collaboration Australian/Rajasthani . All these concerts were happening in the wonderful and magnificient Mehrangarh Fort of Jodhpur! Some concerts were based in the gardens, some others in the inside yard and around the Fort during the day and also the night.

Visitors could see there Gaj Singh of Marwar-Jodhpur was the Chief Patron of Jodhpur RIFF and Mick Jagger, front man of the rock band The Rolling Stones was International Patron.

This quality event brings more than 3000 visitors every year. Don’t hesitate to come to discover it next year!
