Aujourd’hui nous parlerons d’une personne tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressante connue sous le nom de \u00ab\u00a0Medicine Babas\u00a0\u00bb, puisque sa mission est d’\u00e9tablir une banque de collecte des m\u00e9dicaments pour les pauvres. Handicap\u00e9 \u00e2g\u00e9 de 75 ans, Omkar Nath vit dans un taudis et loue une maison avec sa femme et son fils handicap\u00e9 mental.<\/p>\n

Il y a six ans au lieu de se la couler douce \u00e0 la retraite, Nath a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de commencer une collecte des m\u00e9dicaments inutilis\u00e9s et de les donner aux pauvres.<\/p>\n

L’id\u00e9e lui est venue \u00e0 l’esprit quand il fut t\u00e9moin d’un accident de b\u00e2timent en 2008 et vit que les bless\u00e9s \u00e9taient d\u00e9pourvus des m\u00e9dicaments dans un h\u00f4pital d’Etat. A cause d’une rupture de stock ou parce qu’ils n’avaient tout simplement pas assez d’argent pour se les payer.<\/p>\n

Il a dit \u00e0 tout le monde quand il a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de le faire. Beaucoup de personnes \u00e9taient m\u00e9contentes, surtout les membres de sa famille : auparavant cet acte \u00e9tait consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme le fait de devenir mendiant. Mais aujourd’hui les m\u0153urs ont chang\u00e9 et tout le monde est content de lui, car il le fait pour le bien-\u00eatre des gens.<\/p>\n

\"medecine<\/a><\/p>\n

Chaque jour il met sa kurta orange accroche-l\u2019\u0153il et marche pendant \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s 1,6 km en collectant les m\u00e9dicaments faisant de porte \u00e0 porte. Il ne prend pas le m\u00e9tro, qui revient assez cher compar\u00e9 \u00e0 sa carte de bus pour les personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es.<\/p>\n

Chaque mois il collecte des m\u00e9dicaments d’une valeur totale de 5-10 lakh. Une grosse partie de ces m\u00e9dicaments va au\u00a0Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital et au charitable h\u00f4pital \u00e0 Delhi. Pendant les weekends il classifie soigneusement tous les m\u00e9dicaments r\u00e9colt\u00e9s et fait une liste.<\/p>\n

D’apr\u00e8s l’un des reports de l’OMS, environ 30% de population en Inde n’ont pas d’acc\u00e8s aux m\u00e9dicaments.<\/p>\n

Quand on demande comment il survie financi\u00e8rement, il r\u00e9pond que certaines personnes qui lui donnent r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement des m\u00e9dicaments, lui donnent aussi un peu d’argent comme une aide financi\u00e8re. De cette fa\u00e7on, il a un peu d’argent pour ses besoins quotidiens.<\/p>\n

Medicine Baba fait marcher un service louable m\u00eame s’il est handicap\u00e9.<\/p>\n
