L’Hindouisme est la religion de la majorit\u00e9 de la population de l’Inde et du N\u00e9pal. Apr\u00e8s le Christianisme et l’Islam, c’est 3\u00e8me la plus grande religion dans le monde. Contrairement \u00e0 d’autres religions les plus r\u00e9pandues, la religion hindoue n’a pas de fondateur unique, pas une seule et unique \u00e9criture, ni d’ensemble d’enseignements commun\u00e9ment convenu. Ce n’est pas une religion, mais une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de diff\u00e9rents groupes religieux ressortissant de l’Inde. Le mot \u00ab\u00a0Hindou\u00a0\u00bb vient du nom de la rivi\u00e8re Indus, qui coule du Tibet \u00e0 travers Cachemire et le Pakistan \u00e0 la mer. \"guesthouse\"<\/a>\u00a0L’Om est le symbole le plus important dans l’Hindouisme. C’est le son qu’on pourrait entendre lors des plus profondes m\u00e9ditations et on dit que ce serait le nom le plus appropri\u00e9 pour le dieu. \"guesthouse\"<\/a>\u00a0 Swastika est un symbole de la bonne fortune et repr\u00e9sente la nature \u00e9ternelle de dieu, l’omnipr\u00e9sence de l’Absolue. Pour beaucoup d’Hindous, la religion est plus une question de pratique que de croyance. Ce qu’on fait est plus important de ce qu’on croit. Les Hindous croient en la r\u00e9incarnation, le cycle de naissances et de d\u00e9c\u00e8s r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9s, une croyance en ce que l’\u00e2me est \u00e9ternelle et vit plusieurs vies, dans un corps, puis dans un autre. L’\u00e2me peut na\u00eetre parfois dans un corps d’homme, parfois dans celui d’animal, parfois dans celui de plante, etc… On croit que toute forme de vie a une \u00e2me et que toute \u00e2me a le droit de d\u00e9couvrir la vie sous formes diff\u00e9rentes. Ce cycle de naissances et de d\u00e9c\u00e8s r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9s est \u00ab\u00a0g\u00e9r\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb par le karma. De comment on a v\u00e9cu sa vie pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente d\u00e9pend la r\u00e9incarnation de son \u00e2me. Ainsi, le karma d\u00e9finit le sort de l’\u00eatre humain. Le bonheur et les malheurs dans notre vie pr\u00e9sente sont les r\u00e9sultats de nos actes commis dans le pass\u00e9. La plupart des Hindous font leurs d\u00e9votions (puja) tous les jours \u00e0 la maison o\u00f9 ils ont un petit sanctuaire. Ce sanctuaire pourrait \u00eatre un autel ou tout simplement des images et des statues. Au sanctuaire les Hindous font des offrandes \u00e0 un murti qui est une statue d’un dieu ou d’une d\u00e9esse. Un temple hindou est appel\u00e9 Mandir et chaque temple est d\u00e9di\u00e9 \u00e0 un dieu en particulier. \"guesthouse\"\"guesthouse\"<\/a> \"guesthouse\"<\/a> L’Hindouisme est une religion polyth\u00e9iste avec une diversit\u00e9 incroyable de dieux. Cependant contrairement \u00e0 ce qu’on pourrait imaginer, les Hindous croient en un seul dieu dont le nom est Brahman. Les diff\u00e9rents dieux de la religion hindoue repr\u00e9sentent les diff\u00e9rentes formes de Brahman. Parmi les 3 dieux les plus importants on a : Brahma (le Cr\u00e9ateur), Vishnou (le Conservateur) et Shiva (le D\u00e9structeur). Parmi d’autres dieux on distingue \u00e9galement les 4 autres : Saraswathi (la d\u00e9esse de la sagesse, l’\u00e9pouse de Brahman), Lakshmi (la d\u00e9esse de la richesse, l’\u00e9pouse de Vishnou), Parvati (la d\u00e9esse du foyer et de la maternit\u00e9, l’\u00e9pouse de Shiva) et Ganesh (le fils de Shiva et Parvati, le dieu avec un corps d’homme et une t\u00eate d’\u00e9l\u00e9phant, dieu de la bonne chance). Les plus anciens textes sacr\u00e9s de l’Hindouisme sont \u00e9crits en sanscrit et portent le nom des V\u00e9das. Les V\u00e9das (litt\u00e9ralement \u00ab\u00a0connaissance\u00a0\u00bb) sont l’ensemble des \u00e9critures, elles-m\u00eames \u00e9tant des lignes directrices pour les Hindous dans leur vie quotidienne. En fait les V\u00e9das n’\u00e9taient jamais \u00e9crits, mais transmis oralement d’une personne \u00e0 une autre. ils sont toujours connus pour \u00eatre les \u00ab\u00a0shruti\u00a0\u00bb ou bien \u00ab\u00a0ce qui est entendu\u00a0\u00bb. \"guesthouse\"<\/a> Aux origines le syst\u00e8me des castes dans la religion hindoue \u00e9tait une division de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 pour pr\u00e9server cette m\u00eame soci\u00e9t\u00e9. Les gens \u00e9taient divis\u00e9s selon leur m\u00e9tier : les enseignants et les philosophes \u00e9taient des brahmanes; les combattants \u00e9taient des kshatriyas; les commer\u00e7ants et les artisans des vaishyas; et les servants des shurdas.
