La cricket mania en Inde laisse les \u00e9trangers \u00e9tonn\u00e9s : allez n’importe o\u00f9 en Inde, et vous verrez une bande de jeunes s’amuser avec une bat de cricket.<\/p>\n

Les raisons sont nombreuses, la principale \u00e9tant la domination indienne au niveau international. En ses 60 ann\u00e9es d’existence, le plus grand succ\u00e8s indien reste la victoire en coupe du monde de 1983, donc les indiens sont encore tr\u00e8s fiers. Les autres succ\u00e8s en coupe du monde et tournois internationaux a beaucoup \u00e0 voir avec l’\u00e9norme popularit\u00e9 du cricket en Inde.<\/p>\n

Les anglais ont amen\u00e9 le cricket en Inde. Originellement seule la communaut\u00e9 Parsie d’Inde occidentale, proche des officiels anglais, jouaient le jeu. Avec le temps, la royaut\u00e9 indienne s’y est mise, certains Maharajahs gagnant m\u00eame les faveurs des anglais pour leur subtil coup de batte.
