Cette petite ville de l\u2019Etat de Madhya Pradesh, situ\u00e9e \u00e0 environ 10 kilom\u00e8tres au sud de Janshi, est encore bien pr\u00e9serv\u00e9e des foules de touristes que l\u2019on a tant l\u2019habitude de voir \u00e0 Agra ou \u00e0 Jaipur. La beaut\u00e9 de son architecture et le calme qui y r\u00e8gne devraient vous convaincre d\u2019y passer une journ\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Pour se rendre \u00e0 Orchh\u00e2, nous avons parcouru un peu moins de 500 kilom\u00e8tres en train de nuit. Le trajet entre Delhi et Jhansi n\u2019a dur\u00e9 que 8 heures et 30 minutes (une heure de retard seulement). Une fois arriv\u00e9s \u00e0 Jhansi, nous avons rejoint tr\u00e8s facilement Orchh\u00e2 en rickshaw pour 200rs.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  wp-image-3587 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7238.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_7238\" width=\"707\" height=\"471\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7238.jpg 3456w, https:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7238-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7238-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 707px) 100vw, 707px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Notre arriv\u00e9e dans cette petite ville de l\u2019Inde typique fut des plus marquantes. Une foule d\u2019habitants venus c\u00e9l\u00e9brer un rite religieux avait envahi la place centrale de la petite bourgade. Perdus au milieu d\u2019une mer humaine, nous assistions \u00e0 une <em>battle <\/em>musicale entre deux indiens aux voix de castrat. Tr\u00e8s rapidement, une petite partie de la foule se d\u00e9sint\u00e9ressa des festivit\u00e9s pour nous entourer. Quelques indiens r\u00e9clam\u00e8rent des selfies avec nous et nous propos\u00e8rent leur aide. Ils nous indiqu\u00e8rent ainsi la billetterie. Le ticket \u00e0 250rs (+ 25rs pour un appareil photo) nous donna acc\u00e8s aux 7 principaux monuments de la ville pendant une journ\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7372.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  wp-image-3588 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7372.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_7372\" width=\"689\" height=\"459\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7372.jpg 3237w, https:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7372-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7372-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 689px) 100vw, 689px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Notre visite commen\u00e7a par le Rajah Mahal et le Jahangir Mahal. Ces deux imposants monuments datant respectivement du XVI et XVII \u00e8me si\u00e8cle se dressent solidement au milieu d\u2019une vaste \u00eele de la rivi\u00e8re Betwa. Dans la majestueuse cour du Rajah Mahal, nous f\u00eemes la rencontre d\u2019un jeune indien qui s\u2019autoproclama notre guide. En d\u00e9pit de son jeune \u00e2ge (11 ans), sa connaissance du site \u00e9tait impressionnante. Il nous fit d\u00e9couvrir le palais, des catacombes au dernier \u00e9tage, en passant par des salles recouvertes de peintures repr\u00e9sentant Rama, Shiva ou des membres de la famille royale d\u2019Orchh\u00e2 en train de chasser ou de danser.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7276.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  wp-image-3590 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7276.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_7276\" width=\"459\" height=\"629\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7276.jpg 1956w, https:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7276-219x300.jpg 219w, https:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7276-747x1024.jpg 747w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 459px) 100vw, 459px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Malheureusement, notre ami indien ne nous accompagna pas jusqu\u2019au Jahangir Mahal. Ce palais \u00e0 l\u2019apog\u00e9e de l\u2019architecture m\u00e9di\u00e9vale islamique donne une vue \u00e0 360\u00b0 sur un paysage verdoyant. Certains murs sont encore orn\u00e9s des vieilles mosa\u00efques turquoise. Nous fin\u00eemes notre visite de l\u2019\u00eele en faisant une promenade dans le domaine o\u00f9 nous crois\u00e2mes quelques vestiges de la gloire d\u2019Orchh\u00e2.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7266.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  wp-image-3589 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7266.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_7266\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7266.jpg 3456w, https:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7266-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7266-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Nous quitt\u00e2mes l&rsquo;\u00eele pour rejoindre le Chaturbhuj Temple. Les hautes tours de ce temple nous narguaient depuis les Palais de l&rsquo;\u00eele. Apr\u00e8s avoir travers\u00e9 la rue des \u00e9choppes pour touristes nous p\u00e9n\u00e9trions dans le Temple. Une fois encore un indien d\u00e9cida de nous ouvrir la voie vers le sommet du Temple. L&rsquo;homme, v\u00eatu d&rsquo;une toge orange, nous guidait \u00e0 travers les escaliers aux marches de g\u00e9ants. Une fois le sommet atteint nous avons pris le temps de contempler les palais que nous avions quitt\u00e9 quelques minutes plus t\u00f4t. Du haut du temple nous apercevions chacun des \u00e9difices m\u00e9di\u00e9vaux de la r\u00e9gion qui \u00e9mergent au dessus de la v\u00e9g\u00e9tation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7246.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  wp-image-3592 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7246.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_7246\" width=\"639\" height=\"426\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7246.jpg 3307w, https:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7246-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7246-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 639px) 100vw, 639px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Curieux de d\u00e9couvrir la petite ville d&rsquo;orchh\u00e2, nous parcourions les rues anim\u00e9es par les marchands de souvenirs et de fruits et l\u00e9gumes, lorsqu&rsquo;une femme nous rattrapa en nous demandant notre nom. A peine avions nous r\u00e9pondu qu&rsquo;elle nous offrait un bracelet color\u00e9 agr\u00e9ment\u00e9 de grelots, en nous faisant promettre de repasser voir son stand. C&rsquo;est donc dans le but d&rsquo;\u00e9viter un deuxi\u00e8me passage par ce stand que nous travers\u00e2mes les quartiers r\u00e9sidentiels qui alternent les maisons de couleurs rouge, bleu et blanc. Apr\u00e8s quelques minutes de marche nous atteign\u00eemes le Lakshmi Temple. Ce temple du XIX \u00e8me si\u00e8cle surprend par sa forme triangulaire. Assis sur un des angles du temple nous profit\u00e2mes du coucher de soleil sur Orchh\u00e2.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7242.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  wp-image-3594 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7242.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_7242\" width=\"665\" height=\"443\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7242.jpg 3456w, https:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7242-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.bedandchai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_7242-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 665px) 100vw, 665px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Le lendemain, apr\u00e8s un copieux petit d\u00e9jeuner, nous visit\u00e2mes le Ram Rajah Temple et profit\u00e2mes de nos derniers instants \u00e0 Orchh\u00e2 en parcourant les stands de nourriture traditionnelle.
