In India, school is mandatory since 2010. However several dozens of billions of children still don’t have any access to education. The situation is worse in the poorest areas. And there are many reasons : either child work provides an additional aid (financial or not) to their parents, or the school is regarded as waste of time, or tuition fees are too high.
Even if there are many humanitarian organizations in India, international, better known and which act all over the country, Dehradun, the capital of Uttarkhand (Northern India) is still devoided of any help actions.
That’s precisely why in 2013 Michel and Geneviève Rignault created a humanitarian not-for-profit organization. Since then, “Inde et Vous, les Enfants de Dehradun” has decided to get involved into various actions so as to allow children from Dehradun’s slum to have less miserable future.
This French organization, based in Saint Nazaire (Pays de la Loire, in the Western cost), gets children ready for next school entry, supports them for their entire school years, provides them food, essential medical care and clothes for each season.
In close collaboration with Indian association “Project Why” (here their website is), “Les Enfants de Dehradun” exercises a policy of financial transparency and that of strict management.
To know more about their leaded actions or to make a donation, don’t hesitate to visit their website and their blog!
Even better, write them! 🙂
