Where to eat in Delhi?


What are the best restaurants in Delhi? According to you budget and what you want to eat, here is a selection of our favorite restaurants in Delhi.

If you want Indian food, according to your budget:

$: less than 600 INR for 2 people), you have the Karim’s restaurant, in Old Delhi, in front of Jama Masjid Mosque or in Nizammuddin Dargah. It is a must do in Delhi, it is the most famous restaurant of Old Delhi. There are also the Paharganj rooftop restaurants (Sam’s Cafe, Metropolis bar and cafe restaurant). In Khan Market you can taste the kebabs of Khan Chacha. In Old Delhi you can go to Haldiram’s.

$$: between 500 and 1500 INR for two people. Or favorite place is the Gun Powder restaurant in Hauz Khas Village. You can eat delicious food on a terrace with a nice view of the lake. In the same area, the Naivedyam restaurant is famous for its thalis, and south Indian food. The Moti Mahal in the M-Block Market in GK1 is nice.

$$$: more than 1500 INR for two. Taste the Kasbah in the N-block Market in GK1, or Shalom in the same market. In Connaught Place or in GK1, go to Zaffran.

$$$$: expensive, more than 4000 INR. The Indian accent (77, The Manor, Friends Colony) is definitely the best restaurant, the food is excellent, if you want to celebrate something you can try this restaurant.

If you want to eat Western food:

$: less than 600 for two people. The Mac Donald in Old Delhi, or Jangpura or Connaught Place. Taste it! It is an Indian Menu, without beef but with chicken, veggie or masala…

$$: You can got to the Big Chill Cafe, a cosy place to eat and relax, in Khan Market, in Kailash Colony Market, or in Saket. The Cafe Amici is a nice italian cafe or restaurant, located in Hauz Khas Village, in Khan Market or in Saket. The Bistrot du Parc is a very nice french bistrot in Defence Colony.

$$$:  Taste the Cheri Restaurant in Mehrauli. The restaurant Amour in Hauz Khas Village has an amazing rooftop with a nice view of the ruins. Olive in Qutub Minar or in Hotel Diplomat 9 Sardar Patel Marg Enclave Chankyapuri is a very good place to have lunch or diner.  In Rara Avis in GK2 in the M-block market you can taste some delicious French cuisine. Chez Nini in Meher Chand Market, eat some excellent French or European food, the place is very cosy.

$$$$: the Sevilla restaurant in the Claridges. The food is amazing and the place is fantastic, quite romantic.

You want to find some snacks and bakeries?

Elma’s Bakery, in Hauz Khas Village is a very nice tea room, with English cakes. Opera is an excellent bakery with French pâtisseries, deserts, sandwich and bread in Khan Market. It is opening soon in Nehru Place and in Hauz Khas Village. in Yogurberry near the M-block Market you can buy some frozen yogurt, and select some toppings to eat with your frozen yogurt. The Cafe Turtle in the N block Market and in Khan Market is a cosy place to have a cafe or a snack. There is a Starbucks in the M-block Market, in Nehru Place, in Connaught Place…
